Understanding this calculator

What this tool calculates

Daily Lagna Times traces the sidereal Ascendant as the eastern horizon moves through the zodiac for one selected location. The schedule begins at that city's calculated sunrise, ends at its next sunrise, and divides the interval wherever the rising Rashi changes. It is not a list of twelve fixed two-hour blocks. Differences in daylight duration, latitude, longitude and season can change the duration of the windows. The output therefore depends on the observer rather than on a universal daily table. The engine uses the same astronomical context as the site's other calculated Lagna surfaces, while this screen focuses on time windows rather than a birth chart.

How to interpret the result

First select the intended civil date and city, then confirm the location's timezone. Read each row as a start-to-end interval: the named Lagna applies during that span, up to the instant when the next sign begins. Pay attention to the final rows after midnight. They still belong to the sunrise-to-next-sunrise cycle even when the printed civil date changes. An interval that starts just before midnight can end the following morning. Illustrative comparison: choose the same day for Hyderabad and for a city farther west. The sequence of signs follows the horizon, but the displayed clock boundaries need not be the same because the observers are not at identical coordinates. The regression suite checks that the windows are ordered, touch without gaps, start exactly at the calculated sunrise and cover the entire cycle through next sunrise. For a birth event, do not simply pick the Lagna shown at today's clock time. Enter the actual birth date, time, timezone and place in the dedicated chart tool. To compare with a printed almanac, confirm whether its timing reference is sunrise-based, whether it uses sidereal or tropical signs, and which locality it assumes. A displayed window is an interval, not evidence that the same Lagna remains active throughout an entire named calendar day.

Scope and limitations

This output is a rising-sign timetable, not an electional recommendation. It does not examine all Nakshatra, Tithi, Hora, Panchaka or event-specific restrictions needed for a complete Muhurta. Close to a sign transition, inaccuracies in the entered local time or place can change the selected Lagna. Calculations at unusual latitudes may require extra scrutiny. No wedding date, medical decision, travel schedule or financial outcome can be certified from the Lagna sign alone. The service reports the implemented geometry and leaves interpretation to the reader.
