KP HOUSE CUSPS AND SUB LORDS EXPLAINED

How this tool works and how to read it

KP Horoscope uses the Krishnamurti sidereal framework, not the Lahiri Whole Sign convention shown in the main Kundli. A reader should not combine a KP cusp longitude with a Lahiri chart as if the two were identical: the ayanamsha and house systems differ. The page calculates twelve Placidus house cusps from the birth instant and observer coordinates, then describes each relevant degree using its zodiac sign, Nakshatra star lord, sub lord and sub-sub lord.

In KP, every Nakshatra spans 13 degrees 20 minutes of the zodiac, and nine successive subdivisions follow Vimshottari Dasha proportions. The 27 Nakshatras produce a 249-entry addressable sector table when sub boundaries are split at zodiac-sign borders. AstroVedic360 exposes the actual sector and lord sequence rather than presenting an unexplained claim about which house will deliver an event.

How to read the result

Enter the birth date, exact local time and location. Check the displayed local time and timezone before interpreting any cusp. The first and tenth house boundaries are sensitive to birth time and latitude, and a wrong timezone may move cusps significantly. A missing or invalid birth profile does not justify a sample chart or an invented result.

Start with the twelve cusps, then examine a selected cusp sign lord, Nakshatra star lord, sub lord and sub-sub lord. These layers describe where the calculated cusp falls within the disclosed KP division table; a lord label is not by itself a prediction. Next compare the seven listed visible planets with their house placements, and read the separate Ruling Planets snapshot for the specified instant.

When comparing a KP chart to another service, verify the Krishnamurti ayanamsha, Placidus implementation, observer location and the time instant. If Placidus geometry has no real solution near polar latitudes, AstroVedic360 reports that limitation instead of silently substituting another house system.

Reproducible reference: Hyderabad, 1 January 2026 at 12:00 UTC

The project regression case uses Hyderabad at 17.385 degrees north, 78.4867 degrees east, in Asia/Kolkata, and 1 January 2026 at 12:00 UTC (17:30 IST). For this reference instant, the KP ayanamsha is checked against an independent Swiss Ephemeris Krishnamurti reference of approximately 24.12347 degrees. This is a historical calculation fixture, not the current time.

The independent reference lists the sidereal first Placidus cusp near 72.65007 degrees and the tenth near 335.48455 degrees. The regression requires all twelve calculated cusps to match its published comparison within 0.02 degrees. The engine also checks for exactly twelve house cusps, seven visible planets and 249 KP table sectors. These values illustrate repeatable outputs; they are not a claim that a particular life event will happen.

Methodology and limits

The program approximates Krishnamurti ayanamsha around the modern reference epoch and obtains planetary longitudes using the existing astronomical engine. It computes Placidus cusps from astronomical time and geographical latitude, then applies nine Vimshottari-proportional sub divisions within each Nakshatra. The displayed calculations are method-bound and should be compared with independent references where precision matters.

This is a foundation calculator. Rahu/Ketu are not silently fabricated, and full KP significators, house promise or denial logic, event timing, and deterministic marriage, job or health verdicts are outside the validated production scope. Use it as an inspectable chart and consult the Methodology page for the current calculation limits.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the KP Ascendant differ from my regular Kundli?

KP uses Krishnamurti ayanamsha and Placidus unequal houses; the main Kundli uses Lahiri sidereal longitudes and Whole Sign house conventions.

What does the 249 number refer to?

It is the addressable KP star/sub sector table after subdivisions are split at sign boundaries; it is not 249 planets or a prediction count.

Is a sub lord a guaranteed event predictor?

No. This tool calculates the sub division and lord only; it does not implement a validated full KP event judgment.

Why can this chart be unavailable near the poles?

Placidus semi-arc house geometry can become undefined there, and the tool reports that condition instead of switching systems without notice.
