KP Prashna

1–249 number fixes the KP horary Ascendant; Placidus cusps, question-time planets and Ruling Planets are calculated without a yes/no verdict.

What this tool calculates

KP Prashna differs from a birth-chart horoscope and from question-time Vedic Prashna. The user selects an integer from 1 to 249, which corresponds to the beginning of a published Krishnamurti star/sub subdivision. That sector fixes the sidereal first cusp; the selected question instant is then used separately for planetary positions, Ruling Planets and the remaining house geometry. With the fixed first cusp and selected geographic latitude, the engine solves the corresponding Placidus house cusps using KP ayanamsha. It presents the calculated degrees, star/sub lord chains and the seven supported visible-planet positions. The result makes the horary foundation auditable but does not claim to resolve a question automatically.

How to interpret the result

Enter the 1–249 number, exact question time and location. Validate that the number is within range and that the timezone converts the intended local time correctly. Unlike regular Vedic Prashna, the number fixes the first cusp rather than deriving the Lagna from clock time alone. Start by reading the chosen sector’s start degree, star lord and sub lord. Then inspect the twelve Placidus cusps and the planetary positions at the actual question instant. Review the separate Ruling Planets snapshot as a description of weekday, Moon and Ascendant lord context, not a completed judgment. Near extreme geographic latitudes, Placidus geometry can fail. The app reports this condition instead of quietly switching to Whole Sign or another house system. If you need a different convention, do not treat a chart from another method as directly interchangeable. Reproducible method: the published number-147 anchor: The existing regression suite checks a number-147 KP Prashna example against an independently published Delhi reference, including the fixed-number Placidus cusp construction. This validation concerns calculated house geometry, not a prediction tied to a fictional question. For an illustrative comparison, keep the horary number and latitude constant but change the question instant. The fixed first cusp remains linked to the chosen sector while the planetary positions and Ruling Planets can change with time. This is exactly why the input number must not be confused with a birth time.

Scope and limitations

The production engine uses the KP 249-sector table, the commencement of the chosen subdivision, Krishnamurti ayanamsha, and a numerical solution for Placidus cusps. Planetary positions and the Ruling Planets snapshot use the actual question instant. The engine does not read or interpret the text of the question. Rahu/Ketu, full KP significator hierarchies, promise or denial, Pars Fortuna checks, Dasha event timing and yes/no verdicts are not implemented as validated final claims. The purpose of this page is transparent horary chart calculation.
