Understanding this calculator
What this tool calculates
Newborn Astrology is a natal calculation summary, not an assessment of a baby's future. After the user enters the exact birth date, local time and place, the application's timezone resolver establishes a real birth instant. The existing engine calculates the Lahiri-sidereal Moon position, the Janma Nakshatra and Pada, Tithi, Yoga, Karana, Sun and Moon Rashis, rising Lagna, and Whole Sign houses. It also returns seven supported visible classical planets, the naming syllable associated with the calculated Nakshatra Pada, and the first Vimshottari Dasha context. These are computed elements of the same chosen birth instant, not separate claims inferred from a supplied first name or a fixed festival chart.
How to interpret the result
Start with the birth time and place shown in the report. Distinguish a local wall-clock time from a UTC instant, especially if a birth occurred near midnight or where daylight-saving rules apply. Then inspect the Nakshatra and Pada beside the selected naming syllable. The underlying 27 Nakshatras have four Padas each, yielding 108 traditional sound assignments. A hypothetical illustration explains the sensitivity without inventing a baby's chart: if a recorded Moon position lies just before a 3 degree 20 minute Pada boundary, a change in the actual recorded birth time could move the Moon across that boundary and select the next sound. The app calculates the boundary from the sky position; it does not establish the correct time from the child's name. Next, read Lagna separately from Moon Rashi. Lagna follows local horizon geometry and Whole Sign house mapping, whereas Janma Nakshatra follows the Moon's sidereal longitude. Those inputs can change on different schedules. The Dasha section reports a starting lord and fractional balance derived from progress through the birth Nakshatra; it does not prescribe an event or age. Compare a family almanac only after matching place, timezone, birth time, ayanamsha and Nakshatra syllable convention. If these do not agree, review the assumptions rather than selecting a more favourable result. Use Baby Names to browse the limited curated starter list after the Pada is known; the naming list is separate from the astronomical calculation.
Scope and limitations
The displayed chart is a traditional astronomical-and-astrological reference, not a neonatal health, development, psychology, education, personality, fertility or lifespan assessment. It cannot certify a child's future or replace healthcare, legal registration or parental judgment. Incomplete or uncertain birth time limits precision, especially near rising-sign and Pada boundaries. The seven visible-planet scope does not justify inferring calculated node placements. Regional communities use different naming sounds and pronunciations; the displayed syllable is an optional tradition rather than a mandate. No irreversible naming or health decision should depend solely on the screen.
