Understanding this calculator

What this tool calculates

Ugadi Rashiphal is a general Chaitra-year Moon-sign context, not a personal natal chart. Select a Samvatsara reference year, observer location and one of the twelve Rashis. The app anchors the displayed year near the calculated start of Chaitra Shukla Pratipada, shows its local civil date and Samvatsara, and calculates the next Chaitra-year anchor. From the selected Rashi it counts the whole-sign position of calculated Moon, Jupiter and Saturn at five instants distributed through that year. These yield labelled house themes and a dated transit-reference table. The data is location-aware for its displayed calendar date and timezone, but the narrative is derived from sign-distance context, not a detailed biography.

How to interpret the result

Read the start and next-start dates before comparing the yearly text with a January-to-December horoscope. This screen's interval is Chaitra-to-Chaitra. Its initial anchor uses the astronomical Chaitra New Moon boundary plus a one-minute offset so that the sampled instant is inside the new Shukla phase; that is not itself a complete regional festival-day selection rule. The five transit samples are at the beginning, one-quarter, halfway, three-quarters and just before the next anchor. A worked house-count example: when the chosen Rashi and a planet's sampled Rashi are the same, the computed sign-distance house is 1; when the planet is in the next sign, it is House 2. These house numbers refer to the selected Rashi, not the actual birth Lagna. Moon's quickly changing sign provides a short-term opening context, while Jupiter and Saturn move more slowly and are used for annual themes. Compare the dated sample rows before drawing a conclusion from an annual paragraph; intermediate transits may occur between five sample instants and are not shown exhaustively. Selecting a different Rashi remaps the same calculated sky positions to different houses and topic labels. Selecting another year changes the Chaitra boundaries, Samvatsara and planetary samples. For a question about a specific transit's exact day, use a dedicated transit calendar rather than treating the five sampling points as a continuous ephemeris.

Scope and limitations

The text is a traditional generalized Rashi reading, not an individualized prediction, health assessment, financial forecast or guarantee. Natal Lagna, divisional charts, exact birth time, Dasha periods and Rahu/Ketu are not inputs to this summary. Regions may observe Ugadi or Gudi Padwa on different local festival-day rules even when astronomical conjunction instants agree. The source's Chaitra boundary, local date conversion and selected sidereal conventions should be aligned before comparing results with a regional Panchang.
