Nakshatra
One of 27 equal sidereal lunar mansions, each spanning 13°20′ of zodiac longitude.
Definition
The Moon’s sidereal longitude determines the active Nakshatra. Each Nakshatra has four Padas, creating 108 equal 3°20′ subdivisions.
Example
A Moon at the end of one 13°20′ sector can change Nakshatra within hours while remaining in the same Moon Rashi.
Janma Nakshatra is calculated from the birth Moon. Name-based Nakshatra tools show traditional sound associations and are not a substitute for birth calculation.
